Cambridge Arts Festival

No Frosty Reception for Josslin’s Ice Water Booth at the CAF!

CAF Booth.jpg

The Cambridge Arts Festival is an amazing event held in downtown Galt, Cambridge each year to celebrate the thriving arts culture in the community. It brings together a wide variety of artists such as visual artists, selling their wares, musicians performing for the crowds, kids creating their own masterpieces in the kids zone within city hall and Makers who have created their own pieces of art in the form of robots who compete on the main stage.

Arriving early in the morning, we set up our water tent around the corner from the Long & McQuade musical petting zoo, where we were serenaded throughout the course of the day by children exploring musical instruments for the first time.

During the day, we had a lot of visitors to our booth where we handed out free ice water in our smile-face, colour change cups. The artistic crowd seemed to enjoy the way the cups turned purple when cold, but turned blue when you hold them with your warm hand, although the cold water and refills became more appreciated as the temperature climbed.

We even had a few four-legged visitors like Charlie who decided to take a bath in our doggie water bucket.

Overall, it was a great event, full of amazing people and ideas. If you’re in Cambridge next June, we definitely recommend stopping by and helping yourself to a nice, tall cup of free ice water!

About the Cambridge Arts Festival

The Cambridge Arts Festival celebrated its 21st year in 2016. Beginning in 1995, it has been an annual event in Cambridge every June. Their goal is to provide a space for emerging and established local artists to display their talents for Cambridge and the surrounding communities. Artists, musicians and performers can participate in the festival at no charge.

CAF combines the experiences of an art market for artists to display and see their work, stages set around the festival for musicians and performers to amaze the crowds, and Cambridge’s largest Maker Lab event including robot assemblage, interactive video art, 3D printers and more!
