Josslin’s Bouncy Castle Returns to the Relief Sale

If you aren’t already familiar with it, the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale is an annual event that brings together the community of New Hamburg and surrounding areas. Over 40 vendors and 2,000 volunteers donate time, money and goods to raise money to support the relief efforts of the Mennonite Central Committee in our communities, nationally and globally.

2019 marked the 53rd year of the sale and while the weather did not cooperate fully it can still be called a huge success.  Highlights of the event included a massive quilt sale featuring traditional and modern artwork by local artisans, a place to buy all the plants you need for this year’s garden, and all the food vendors selling Mennonite seasonal specialties such as tea balls and strawberry pies.

For over a decade, Josslin has been a part of this event by hiring an inflatable castle and children’s play area. Volunteers from our staff collect donations and Josslin doubles the amount we take in. This year we were able to contribute a total of $1,872.80 to the $260,000 total raised by the sale.

Head over to https://nhmrs.com/ for everything you will need to know about next year’s sale.  You can even find some of the mouthwatering traditional recipes like tea balls used at the sale so you can try them yourself!  Or follow them at https://www.facebook.com/nhmennonitereliefsale/ to see all the great photos from this year.
