50 Years of family, community, and giving back
Celebrating five decades of Wagler-family ownership by investing in the communities we call home

Scott and Steve Wagler, brothers and managing partners of Josslin Insurance, are the sons of the late Don Wagler and his wife, Rose, who purchased the brokerage 50 years ago, in 1975.
Since then, Josslin Insurance has been more than a place to get insurance. We’ve been fortunate to grow alongside the communities we serve, building relationships with clients, neighbours, local organizations and businesses along the way.
As we celebrated 50 years of Wagler-family ownership, we wanted to mark the milestone in a way that reflected one of the values that has been at the heart of our family and our brokerage for generations: giving back to our communities.
To celebrate this milestone, we invited our team of more than 100 people, across our eight offices, to help decide how we could make a Real difference.
$50,000 invested in local communities
Our employees nominated local not-for-profit organizations that are making a difference in the communities where we live and work.
As a result, we provided $50,000 in donations to 10 organizations, with each organization receiving $5,000, including:
We also wanted our 50th anniversary community investment to make a difference for children and their families. Five $1,000 contributions were made toward nutrition programs at Listowel Eastdale Public School, St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School, North Perth Westfield Elementary School, Elma Township Public School and Howick Central Public School.
Giving our time, too
We believe giving back isn't only about financial support. Sometimes, the most meaningful and impactful contribution we can make is with our time.
As such, our team participated in seven group volunteer opportunities with organizations that are important to our employees and communities.
Josslin team members volunteered with the Mennonite Central Committee’s Meat Cannery, the Listowel Salvation Army’s Sort & Pack Program, Strong Start Charitable Organization, KW Humane Society, the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, the Child Witness Centre, and the snack program at North Perth Westfield Elementary School.
These experiences gave our team an opportunity to step outside our everyday roles and work together while supporting organizations that make a Real difference in our communities.
Being celebrated by the community
Our 50th anniversary celebrations also brought another exciting honour.
Earlier this summer, Josslin Insurance was named Business of the Year at the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce's 2026 Business Excellence Awards Gala.
Our commitment to the communities we serve, including our 50th anniversary community investment, was recognized as an important part of what made Josslin stand out.
For us, the award was especially meaningful because it recognized something we believe has always been central to who we are — our people and our communities.
Looking ahead
Fifty years of Wagler-family ownership is a milestone we're incredibly proud of, but it's also a reminder of the many people who have helped us get here.
From our clients and community partners to the organizations making a Real difference every day, we are grateful for the trust and support we've received over the past five decades.
“Giving back to the communities that have helped us thrive over the last 50 years is important to our family,” says Scott Wagler, brokerage partner. “Supporting the communities where we all live and work is a central value of our organization. We wouldn’t be celebrating this milestone or this award without them, so we wanted to show our thanks in the ways that would do them the most good.”
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our Josslin story over the past 50 years. We’re proud to call these communities home, and we look forward to continuing to grow, serve and make a Real difference for many years to come.
